PSYCHIC POWER IS REALISED WHEN MENTAL ANGUISH EXCEEDS PHYSICAL PAIN
Lost in Cult is proud to present, for the first time on 4K UHD anywhere in the world, Rubber’s Lover, a masterpiece of cyberpunk and Japanese independent cinema from Shozin Fukui.
Deep underground, a team of radical scientists tries to extract psychic abilities from human experiments using inhumane torture and drugs that push the mind to its furthest limits – often with fatal results. As the company funding these extreme projects tries to shut the team down, the scientists attempt one more experiment, taking hostages as their final test subjects, pushing them to limits thought impossible.

But there’s more: for the first time outside of Japan, we’re bringing Rubber’s Lover back to VHS, director Fukui’s preferred format for the film. Printed on PAL tapes and limited to 500 copies, with loving new box art, see Rubber’s Lover in all its grungy, analogue glory.
Please note: VHS orders may ship later than January 11 but are still expected by Q1-Q2 2027.
Through our new imprint “Post Culture”, Lost In Cult is expanding beyond games into the worlds of film, music, and more. With a specific emphasis on physical creative ephemera, we’re working directly with creatives to open their archives and present the behind-the-scenes stories of beloved classics in new and unique ways.
Rubber’s Lover is our first foray into releasing films, and we couldn’t be more honored to continue Shozin Fukui’s legacy by bringing Rubber’s Lover to more people.
